Turai ki dal or Beerakai pappu as called in Andhra, is one of my comfort food. Prepared with turai / ridge gourd, tomato and dal. I have used here both toor and masoor dal. My way to include variety lentils in a dish. You can add either toor dal or masoor dal. These dals which include vegetables are so wholesome, you don’t need to make an extra side dish for rice, if you are feeling too lazy.
When made a stir fry / thoran using ridge gourd, it gives out a little quantity, as it leaves out lot of water. So, if you have small amount of gourd lying around in the fridge and thinking what to make. This is what you are searching for. 🙂
Enjoy this dal along with steamed rice and some thoran like Cabbage Thoran, Chow Chow Thoran or Green Moong Dal Thoran
